A class nine girl was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by three minors in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr village on May 3.
According to the police the accused minors are absconding after committing the heinous crime and raids are being conducted at possible hideouts to nab them. The girl is the daughter of Indian Army personnel.
As per the complaint filed by the victim’s uncle, the incident occurred at 4 am when the 15-year-old had gone out of the house to dispose of cow dung. The accused overpowered the girl and forcibly took her to an abandoned house in the village and gang-raped her. Before fleeing the scene, they also threatened the victim with her life if she told anyone about the incident.
The police stated that the girl’s family members started searching for her after she didn’t return home for nearly two hours. They found the girl lying semi-conscious in the abandoned house.
“We took her to the Primary Health Centre in the village where her condition deteriorated and she was referred to the district hospital in Bulandshahr. Two of the accused live in the same village while one belongs to a nearby place,” said the victim’s uncle.
Police have lodged a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and initiated a probe.
“A case of gangrape and another under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered. We are conducting raids to nab the culprits but they are at large,” said Syana Deputy SP Bhaskar Kumar Mishra.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
