Three New Laws: Justice to be Ensured in Any Case within 3 Years, Says Shah

Chandigarh: Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched three new criminal laws on Sunday, stating that these laws will bring about the biggest reform of the 21st century in the criminal justice system. Shah asserted that with these laws, justice will be ensured in any case within three years, right up to the Supreme Court.

Under these new laws, e-Sakshy, Nyay Setu, Nyay Shruti, and e-Summon apps will be used to ensure that the entire process is electronic and efficient. These apps will enable the police, medical, forensic, prosecution, and prison departments to work in tandem, making the entire process faster and more transparent.

Shah emphasized that the primary objective of these laws is not to punish people but to provide them with justice. He said, "These laws are not meant to punish, but to provide justice. That's why they are not punishment codes, but justice codes." The Union Home Minister expressed confidence that with the implementation of these laws, India will have the most modern and technologically advanced criminal justice system in the world.

The new laws have been designed to ensure that justice is delivered within a timeframe of three years. Shah explained that under these laws, a time-bound system has been put in place, ensuring that judgments will be delivered within three years, right up to the Supreme Court.

Shah appealed to the public to stay away from rumours and to actively contribute to the implementation of these laws. He emphasized that e-Sakshy will enable the electronic recording of evidence, including video and photography, which will be available in court immediately.

The Union Home Minister also highlighted the benefits of e-Summon, which will enable the electronic process of summons to be sent from the court to the police station and to the person concerned. He explained that Nyay Setu dashboard will link the police, medical, forensic, prosecution, and prison departments, making all information related to the investigation available at the click of a button. Nyay Shrut will enable courts to conduct video conferencing for witness statements, expediting the trial process.

With the implementation of these laws, Chandigarh will become the first administrative unit in the country to have 100% implementation of these laws within two months.
