A panel tasked by Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal has given a clean chit to the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party government into allegations made by BJP about irregularities in the procurement of 1000 low floor buses by the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), sources said on Saturday.
As per sources, " Lieutenant Governor's inquiry committee has given a clean chit to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government for procurement of 1000 DTC buses. The inquiry committee did not find any irregularities in the tender process."
BJP leader Vijender Gupta who is an MLA from Rohini had alleged that there were irregularities committed by the Kejriwal government in the terms of purchase and maintenance contracts of 1000 DTC buses.
After this, Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on June 16 constituted a three-member inquiry committee and had sought a report to be submitted within two weeks.
Today, Gupta took to Twitter and wrote, "What can be more disgusting than AAP indulging in a shameless dance over DTC Bus procurement scam. If there hasn't been any financial irregularities then why has the LG Constituted Committee asked to issue a fresh tender? This is when the work order was issued by the govt."
"It has been our plea from day one that the DTC Bus scam should be handed over to Anti Corruption Branch to ensure criminal investigation. The LG Constituted Committee, which had Transport Secretary as its member, is not competent to conduct a thorough Inquiry", tweeted Gupta.
BJP leader V Gupta had demanded a CBI inquiry into the alleged Bus Scam. "Criminal wastage of tax payers' money worth Rs 3500 crore by the AAP government cannot be scuttled under the carpet because of lack of proper investigation", he said.
