The relaxations announced by the Centre in the time of coronavirus lockdown will start to apply from tomorrow (Monday). These easings were put out by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address to the nation on 14th April when he prolonged the lockdown.
The Indian Prime Minister has stated that these relaxation will be conditional, and asked people to ensure that the Covid-19 dose not spread.
Here is the list:
Private Vehicles: The Ministry of Home Affairs which put out the guidelines, permitted taking out our private cars but only in emergencies like visiting a veterinarian doctor etc. While two people – driver plus one passenger at the back seat – are allowed to go out in a four wheeler, one one individual is permitted on a two wheeler.
Cab service: Taxis, autos and cab survices are barred till 3rd May. However, if your two wheeler needs to get repaired, mechanics will be available.
Offices: The government has announced staggered shifts and lunch breaks for offices. The directions also mentions that people will have to maintain a distance of 10 feet while working, and face mask is compulsory. The government has permitted homemade masks also. While IT firms have been permitted to call 50% of the staff to office, other sectors have been permitted 33% of employees. Among other steps put out by the government, more than four individuals should not be permitted in office lifts, and only big vehicles are meant to be used for pick and drop of workers.
Who will work from home: People aged 65 and above, and those with children aged five years or less. Offices have also been ordered to install thermal screening and hand sanitisers.
E-commerce: Flipkart, amazon etc have been permitted to deliver stuff to people’s houses, but in a fresh notice issued on Sunday. The MHA elucidated that these platforms will be allowed to deliver only essential goods.
Constructions: The government has also permitted construction works from Monday. The real estate companies are, however, not permitted to bring in labours from outside a state.
Agricultural activities: Packaging and marketing of food products permitted, but the firms involved in this business will have to abide by social distancing norms. Brin Kilns also have been permitted to function.
Services: Plumbers, electricians, carpenter, courier service have also been spared from lockdown and can start functioning from tomorrow. The DTH and cable will also be permitted to continue their work.
Transport of goods: The transport of all goods have been permitted from Monday. The Railways have already stated that its goods train will work during the lockdown to ensure supply of essential items. For such goods train and cargo flights have been permitted to work with two drivers and one helper.
Essential service: ATMs, banks, petrol pumps, post offices, hospitals, labs, medical equipment centres will carry one with their work the way they have been doing since the lockdown started. Doctors, scientists and ambulances are permitted to crossover from state to state.
These relaxations are not applicable for those areas identified as coronavirus hotspots.
