Moscow

Moscow is the capital of Russia and is one of the cities with the most important tourist attractions. With more than 400 museums, the Bolshoi Theater and numerous architectural and historical attractions, it is undoubtedly a must.

St. Basil's Cathedral

Located in the center of Moscow - more precisely on the famous Red Square, close to the Kremlin and Lenin's mausoleum - this cathedral is one of the most important tourist attractions in Russia, a true icon. The building that adorns most of the Russian postcards and souvenirs for its captivating architecture has nine independent chapels. It tells the story that it was built between 1554 and 1561 by order of Tsar Ivan the Terrible, who ordered to blind the architect so that he would never do anything like it. In addition to its shape, the cathedral impresses with its colorful and domed bulbs that adorn the termination of each tower.

Kremlin

The Kremlin is a must see for anyone visiting Moscow. It is the home of the government offices of the Nation and the collection of royal treasures. Behind the red brick wall is a set of historic buildings - open to the public two years after the death of Joseph Stalin - which also houses four cathedrals built in the 15th and 16th century, four palaces and several museums. This includes the Armory, full of royalty treasures, and the Diamond Fund Exhibition, a collection of jewelry that includes a 190-carat diamond of Empress Catherine the Great. All the buildings have the most diverse architectural styles: Arabesque, Greek, Gothic, Chinese and even Italian.

St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg is the second Russian capital, the capital of the north, located along the shore of the Neva Bay of the Gulf of Finland. In this spectacular city, which for many has the title of "the Venice of Russia" for its beautiful canals worthy of being traveled in boats, you can find a multitude of palaces, museums, cathedrals and monuments. Built in 1703, this city today can be considered as the epicenter of Russian culture and art.

Hermitage Museum

It is one of the largest museums of art and ancient culture collections in the world. Founded in 1764 by Catherine the Great, the prestigious Hermitage began with a private collection in which the Tsars were collecting wonderful works of art for several centuries. But currently the collection is made up of more than 3 million pieces of objects ranging from Greek and Roman times to Western Europe. The collections occupy a large complex of six historic buildings, such as the Winter Palace, which was the former residence of the Russian emperors and it takes several days to visit most of the Museum.

Suzdal

It is one of the most traditional and oldest cities in Russia, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1992, thanks to its famous "White Monuments of Vladimir and Suzdal" which are a set of architectural works that are part of a small Kremlin where there are almost more churches than inhabitants. It is a city famous for its ancient churches and monasteries and an enormous supply of original crafts and cuisine. Located in the center of Russia, it was once the capital of several Russian principalities and is now a relic of its cultural past. There the oldest traditions are still preserved and it is constituted as a true open-air museum that transports visitors in time. Other of the most curious attractions are the steam baths, the religious celebrations and the fairs. Due to its distance from the city and the big industries, Suzdal is the perfect place for those who are looking for a rest.

Siberia - Lake Baikal

Many travelers of the Trans-Siberian railway make plans to know Lake Baikal, the deepest and oldest lake on Earth. It contains around 20 percent of the world's fresh water. Located in Siberia, it is 25 million years old, is surrounded by mountain ranges and is considered one of the cleanest lakes in the world.
