Due to heavy downpours in Uttarakhand, the condition has deteriorated in several areas of the state. Several disturbing photos and videos have been surfaced on the Internet which showed the flash floods swiping away anything coming in its path. One such heartwrenching video has gone viral that showed an elephant stuck on a mud island in Gaula river in Nainital.
The shocking video was shared by IFS officer Surender Mehra on Twitter. In the viral, the elephant can be seen trying to come out from the flash flooded area.

Thankfully, the elephant made its way to safety with the help of forest officials.
According to DFO Haldwani Sandeep Kumar, when they received the information about the elephant, a team of forest officials rushed to rescue the animal. Somehow the elephant crossed the river and moved towards Dev Rampur. Later, the forest officials sent it towards the forest.
