In a horrifying incident, a man was left stranded on a glass walkway at a scenic spot in northeast China. The incident took place when a sudden shattered the transparent panels around the man.
The images of the tourist, who was temporarily left stranded on a 330-ft-glass-bottomed suspension bridge at Piyan Mountain in China’s Longjing City, have gone viral on social media.
In the viral pics, a man can be seen clinging to the rail of the bridge while the glass platform can be seen missing and damaged.
As per Hong Kong’s Apple Daily newspaper, the glass panel beneath the tourist’s feet got damaged and crashed towards the cliffs below the bridge. Thankfully, he clung onto the bridge’s guardrails, however, the view was quite scary.

On Friday, the local govt said in an online statement that the bridge was damaged by winds up to 73 to 92 miles per hour, or about the equivalent of a Category 1 hurricane under the Saffir-Simpson scale.

According to a report by state news agency Xinhua, the man got escaped with the joint rescue efforts of firefighters and police as well as forestry and tourism staff.
After the rescue, he was sent to the hospital for a check-up and his condition is said to be stable.

“Our staff rushed to the scene with emergency equipment and successfully transferred the trapped person to safety. The incident caused no casualties. The trapped person was taken to the hospital for observation. He was discharged as his mental and physical condition were stable,” a statement shared on Weibo.
