Twitter briefly suspends Al Jazeera's account
Microblogging site Twitter has briefly suspended the Al Jazeera Media Network's Arabic-language Twitter account. Social media platform later reinstated the account. The decision come at a time when there is a wide diplomatic dispute among Arab nations. According to the media reports, Al-Jazeera has also come under cyber attack as well amid the diplomatic crisis.
When asked for the reason behind this move San Francisco-based Twitter did not respond at all. In fact, Twitter offered no explanation behind the sudden suspension of Al Jazeera's account on 17 June. The decision comes after many Arab countries have blocked channel's website and channel in their nation.
The Al Jazeera Media Network's another Twitter account described the decision as "organized campaign" against media network. The Billionaire of Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal comes in the list of top investors of San Francisco-based microblogging site Twitter.
On 5 June Saudi Arabia has led other Arab countries in cutting diplomatic ties with Qatar over proclamation that the nation support extremist and terrorist.
