Pakistan, Afghanistan to conduct joint operations along Durand Line
Pakistan and Afghanistan will be conducting joint operations along the Durand Line under the supervision of The United States.
Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani's spokesman, Najibullah Azad, said both countries will launch operations in their territory against terrorists
"This means that both counties launch operations on their territory to destroy enemy nests on the other side of the Durand Line," Tolo News quoted Mohammad Radmanish, deputy spokesman for the Afghanistan's Ministry of Defense (MoD), as saying.
However, questions have been raised about the effect of the operation as the main terrorist hideouts, which are not along the Durand Line, will remain safe.
Meanwhile Afghan CEO Abdullah Abdullah said that, the operation will not bring any favorable results if the United States does not supervise the situation closely.
Abdullah's spokesman Mujib Rahimi said that both sides can take military action after identifying the terrorist centers if the U.S monitoring takes place.
This development comes after a recent visit of U.S congressional delegation to Pakistan.
