Islamic State Khorasan Province chief Aslam Farooqui arrested for orchestrating attack on Kabul Gurdwara

In a special operation on Saturday by the Afghan security forces, the so called emir of Islamic State Khorasan Province Mawlawi Abdullah also known as Aslam Farooqui was apprehended on charges of co-ordinating the attack on Gurdwara in Kabul on 25th March which killed 27 sikhs.

According to intelligence report, Abdullah, a Pakistani national was associated with Lashkar-e-Tayebba (LeT) terror out and then Tehreek-e-Taliban group. Later he succeeded Mawlawi Zia-ul-Haq as ISKP chief in April last year.

The report further stated that Abdullah used Kasargod resident Muhsin Tikaripur along with three Urdu-Punjabi speaking terrorist for the Kabul attack on the command of Haqqani Network and LeT.

The Haqqani network according to reports had planned to attack the Indian mission in Kabul but couldn’t infiltrate the tight security but in lieu chose to target the Gurudwara when a prayer gathering was taking place.

Abdullah will now be probed by Afghan National Directorate of Security to figure out who gave the order to attack innocent Sikhs and what was the role played by Pakistan in the terror attack.
