Indian businessman, his wife brutally murdered by Pakistani man in Dubai

An Indian businessman and his wife were ruthlessly killed by a Pakistani man inside their villa in Dubai during a break-in and thievery attempt, media report said.

Hiran Adhiya and Vidhi Adhiya, both in their 40s, were murdered inside their villa at Dubai’s Arabian Ranches.

Dubai Police to the Pakistani man into their custody in less than 24 hours, reported Gulf News on Tuesday.

Director of Criminal Investigation Dept at Dubai Police, Jamal Al Jallaf, stated that the daughter of the deceased informed the Dubai Police command room to report the crime.

"Patrols and forensic experts went to the two-floors villa. The father who worked as an executive manager at a company and his wife were killed. They are survived by their two daughters aged 18 and 13," the newspaper quoted Brig Al Jallaf said.

The murdered couple has been identified by Indian Consul General.

According to the police the suspect broke into the house on 18th June while the family was asleep. He took a wallet which had Dh 2,000 (Rs 41,229) and went into the bedroom looking for more valuables.

"When the man woke up, the attacker stabbed him. The wife also woke up and the suspect stabbed her. He kept stabbing them until they died. When their 18-year-old daughter woke up and saw her parents in a pool of blood, the attacker stabbed her in the neck and escaped," Brig Al Jalaf added.

The daughter of the victim sustained minor injuries and managed to notify the police.

Officer recovered a knife 1 km away from the villa and identified the suspect who was staying in another emirate.

Adil Al Joker, the assistant of the director of the Criminal Investigation Department at Dubai Police, stated that the suspect confessed his wrong doings and that he planned to break into the villa.

"He claimed that he used to do maintenance work in the villa over a year ago and had seen a large amount of money on the table, which was what lured him to break into the villa. He bought the knife on the day of the crime," Col Al Joker said.

"The incident is very unfortunate and the consulate is in touch with friends of the couple," Consul General Vipul told Gulf News.

He stated that some jewellery had also been stolen from the villa but it has been recovered.

Furthermore, Vipul stated that the couple ran their own business with an office in Sharjah.
