Imran Khan's nomination papers challenged

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan's nomination papers, filed from NA-243 Karachi, were challenged on Tuesday.

According to Geo News, Citizen Abdul Wahab Baloch filed an appeal against Imran Khan's candidature with a returning officer over the Sita White case.

The PTI chief's lawyer, Imran Ismail appeared before court for the case. Ismail said he had received a copy of the appeal and asked for some time for cross-examination.

Ismail informed the court that Imran Khan was in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah and will return to Pakistan on June 18. Hence, he can be questioned on June 19 about the same.
The court ordered Ismail to file a request for an extension to submit a respond.

The verdict on the petition filed against Imran's candidature will be announced on June 19.
Ismail then submitted a written request to the court.

The court has postponed the scrutiny of Imran's nomination papers till June 19, which is also the last date for the process.

The PTI chairman has submitted nominations from National Assembly constituencies in Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, and Mianwali.

The electoral symbols will be issued to candidates by June 30 and polling will be conducted on July 25.
