Earthquake of magnitude 7.7 jolts Russia's Commander Islands
An earthquake, measuring 7.7 on the Richter Scale, hit the area on the Commander Islands on Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula.
The tremor shook the Islands at 23.34 GMT, with its epicenter located nearly 233 kilometers away from Nikolskoye settlement in the Islands, at the depth of 483 kilometers, reported.
Till now, no loss of life or property has been reported.
As per the Geophysical Survey of the Russian Academy of Sciences (GS RAS), a tsunami warning was issued on Bering Island, located in 290 kilometers from the epicenter.
This is was the second earthquake in the Commander Islands in two days. An earthquake of 6.0-magnitude was witnessed on Monday.
