US top public health body adds six new symptoms of Coronavirus

The Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the United States’ top public health body, has attached six new symptoms, which according to the CDC could be signs of the Covid-19, just as experts continue to examine the virus and the illness it causes.

CDC has stated that the six new symptoms are chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat and new loss of smell or taste.

Earlier, the CDC had stated that fever, cough and shortness of breath were the symptoms of the coronavirus, which has infected 2,971,477 people and claimed 206,544 lives throughout the world. Shortness of breath was later altered to “shortness of breath or difficulty in breathing” by the CDC.

“People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. These symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus,” CDC said on its website.

The public health body also described a set of emergency warning signs that should call for immediate medical attention, including trouble breathing, pain and pressure in the chest, new confusion or inability to arouse, bluish face.

The list is not entirely comprehensive others who have experienced coronavirus reported an array of symptoms, as per CDC.

The CDC elucidated that a running nose rarely occurs with coronavirus and sneezing is still not a symptom.

The CDC and World Health Organisaton had initially urged people to be on the lookout for fever, dry cough and breathing difficulties. After that people reported losing their sense of smell and taste and then came sporadic cases of gastrointestinal.

Purple or blue bruises on people’s feet and toes, most commonly appearing in kids are young adults, known as Covid toe have also been witnessed.

Some doctors reported the virus may cause unforeseen strokes in adults in their 30s and 40s, which could be a outcome of blood clotting issues.
