26/11 attack: US to give $5 million reward for giving an information about the attackers involved in Mumbai attack planning
26/11 Mumbai terror attack which had taken place 10 years ago but its impact is still in the hearts of the attack survivors. The United States of America has come forward to join the issue on the 10th anniversary of the terror attack.
US has announced to give a reward of $5 million for those who will provide the information about the terrorists or convicts who were involved in planning or facilitating the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai in 2002.
In this deadly attack, at least 166 people have died and over 300 people were left injured.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has urged all countries on Monday particularly Pakistan, to uphold their United Nations Security Council (UNSC) obligations to implement sanctions against the terrorists involved in the attacks, including Lashkar-e-Taiba and its affiliates.
He also announced that 'the Department of State Rewards for Justice (RFJ) Program is offering a new reward for up to $5 million for information leading to the arrest or conviction of any individual who was involved in planning or facilitating 2008 Mumbai attack.'
The decision comes after US Vice-President Mike Pence met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Singapore. During the meeting, the Mumbai terror attack issue was raised during their meeting and they have taken the decision to catch the perpetrators who have not been brought to justice.
Around 166 people, including Americans, were killed in the attack carried out by 10 LeT terrorists.
