TV Czarina Ekta Kapoor sacrifices 1 year salary of 2.5 crores to help employees at Balaji Telefilms

Since PM Modi announced the lockdown due to coronavirus the life has come to a standstill. Even the entertainment industry is resting at home and making most of this time by spending quality time with family. However, the life of daily wage workers has hit the rough phase as they are not able to earn to fill their stomach. Recently, Salman Khan gave the salary to his Radhe crew members who were scheduled to work between 26th March-2nd April.

Now TV Czarina Ekta Kapoor who is one of the most successful producers and director in the TV world has decided to forgo her 1-year salary i.e. Rs 2.5 crore to her Balaji Telefilms employees. Announcing the same she took to her Instagram handle to share the statement that read, “The impact of CORONA crisis is huge, unprecedented and multi-pronged. We all need to do things that will ease the hardships of people around us and of our country at large. It is my first & foremost responsibility to take care of the various freelancers & daily wage workers who work at Balaji Telefilms & who are going to suffer immense losses due to no shootings in the current scenario and uncertainty over the indefinite period to follow.”

Her statement further read that due to this she forsake her one year salary so that her co-workers don’t have to take a hit during this period of crisis and complete lockdown.

Meanwhile, as the shooting has come to a halt the current running shows are not able to telecast new shows so in the wake of this Ekta announced that the popular shows Kumkum Bhagya, Kundali Bhagya would be temporarily replaced with their ALTBalaji series Karrle Tu Bhi Mohabbat.
