As it’s the last month of the year and also the decade so we thought why not go back in the time machine and relive the decade once again through some amazing TV shows that made their comeback on the small screen. Well, the craze of the sequel is not restricted to Bollywood but we have also witnessed in the TV industry, including OTT platform as well.
So here we have brought a list of the shows that hit the small screens with the sequels and made you fall in love all over again.
Vikram Betaal Ki Rahasya Gatha (2018)
The show which aired on &TV is a remake of DD National’s popular show Vikram Betaal [1988]. The show is based on Baital Pachisi which contained stories from the Indian mythology. The story revolved around the life of Vikramaditya, the King of Ujjaini, India. In the show, we saw Betaal narrating a story to Vikram and after completing the story he use to ask a question and as soon as Vikram answers it he use to vanish leaving Vikram all confused. This show was loved by the 90’s kid and with Betaal’s question, even the kids watching the show use to scratch their head for an answer.
Chandrakanta- Ek Mayavi Prem Gaatha (2017)
Ekta Kapoor’s popular show featuring Madhurima Tuli, Vishal Aditya Singh, Urvashi Dholakia among others is a sequel of 1994’s hit show Chandrakanta featuring Shahbaz Khan and Shikha Swaroop among others on DD National. The show is based on the novel written by Devaki Nandan Khatri narrating the story of Princess Chandrakanta.
Kasautii Zindagii Kay (2018)
Star Plus’ and Ekta Kapoor cult classic show featuring Erica Fernandes (Prerna), Parth Samthaan (Anurag), Aamna Sharif (Komolika), Karan Singh Grover (Mr Bajaj) among others is the remake of 2001’s hit show Shweta Tiwari, Cezzane Khan, Ronit Roy and Urvashi Dholakia. The show is running on the same storyline however the new actors have maintained the essence and the craze among the audience. Since the show started it won the millions heart and has also maintained its position in the TRP list.

Sanjivani (2019)
The Indian medical drama television series featuring Surbhi Chandna, Namit Khanna, Mohnish Bahl and Gurdeep Kohli is the remake of 2002’s Star Plus show featuring Mohnish Bahl, Gurdeep Kohli, Rupali Ganguly among others. Since the show started it didn't do well on the TRP chart and rumours was doing rounds that makers might shut the show, however, it all came out to be fake and now the show is running pretty well.
Sarabhai VS Sarabhai (2017)
The show which made its comeback in the television industry through Hotstar is the second season of 2004’s comedy show Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. The show made everyone go ROFL with its funny punch lines. The story revolves around the life of an upper-class Gujarati family the Sarabhais who live in a luxury apartment and their middle-class daughter-in-law Maya.
Ladies Special (2018)
Mumbaikar can relate to the word and the story of Ladies Special. This show is the remake of 2009’s hit show Hasne Aur Hasaane Ka Tonic – Ladies Special featuring Shubha Joshi, Nanda Shinde, Bubbly Chaddha and Pooja Singh. In the second season, the story revolved around the 3 women who belong to Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
Beyhadh 2 (2019)
Featuring Jennifer Winget, Shivin Narang, Aashish Chowdry is the sequel of 2016’s hit show Kushal Tandon, Aneri Vajani and Jennifer Winget’s. The show was a big hit as it was one of its kind featuring Jennifer in a totally different avatar. Romantic thriller show raised goosebumps of viewers and made them fall for the show and Jennifer every second. The story revolves around Maya Jaisingh who is back to take his revenge by her former boyfriend Mrityunjay Roy.
