An offbeat idea of replacing touchpad by a smartphone-sized touchscreen in a laptop by Asus captured everyone attention in Computex 2018. This feature has been developed in the Asus premium laptop i.e. Asus Zenbook Pro. Asus has smartly featured the touchscreen pads or screen pad in two models of Zenbook Pro.
Apple also provides a touch bar on the keypad with MacBook Pro Touch Bar. But Asus has gone one step ahead and has replaced the complete touchpad with a screen pad which looks amazing. This smart touchpad serves as a regular touchpad but the touchscreen display also functions as smartphone integrated with your Laptop. Asus claimed to develop ‘ the world’s first smart touchpad’.
The smart screenpad is 5.5 inches in size and have the 1920x1080 resolution, users can use this screenpad to launch apps, open calculator, calendar or numeric keypad. You can also pay youtube videos via Chrome extension. Experts review is positive about the feature, they found it convenient and user-friendly. Users can easily switch between normal touch bar and screenpad just by pressing F6. This smart screepad has nice matte finishing and Asus has done good work on bringing such interactive feature and company has done a notable work at an initial phase of this technology.
Asus has also developed special Office integrations for the screen pad with Microsoft which allows users to access Excel, Powerpoint and Word and create shortcuts on the screenpad. By using the screenpad, users can also control music and video playback.
