According to WABetaInfo, the app has "Restricted Groups" feature in version 2.17.430 on Google Play Beta program.

“A group can be restricted once every 72 hours but thanks to the 2.17.430 beta, we discovered that WhatsApp will be finally able to change this value from the server,” the website said.

'Restricted Groups' setting can only be activate by group admin only. After this, the admin can send photos, videos, chats and other things in the group as normal, but the admin can restrict other member from doing so. After activating the setting of 'Restricted Groups' feature, other members will be able to read the message in the group but they will not be able to send anything. They will be given a new feature named 'Message Admin', so that they share it in the group with the consent of group admin.

Only after the approval of group admin, the members of the group will be able to share the message. WhatsApp also announced the addition of advanced features, bug fixes and general improvements in upcoming updates. WhatsApp has 1.2 billion active monthly users and is available in 50 languages worldwide, including 10 Indian languages.
