Mark Zuckerberg owned- Facebook has recently announced a good news for its users. It has declared to unveil the newest feature of “3D photos” feature is to role down soon. This feature will allow its users to add a depth to the photos on their feed.
Although the feature is rolling out for users form now, still the option to create these photos, however, is not being made available for all yet, claims reports. But that too should be out for all by coming a week.
“Today we’re starting to roll out 3D photos, a new way to share your memories and moments in time with a fun, lifelike dimension in both News Feed and VR,” the company said in a blog post. “With technology that captures the distance between the subject in the foreground and the background, 3D photos bring scenes to life with depth and movement,” it said.
As per reports, the 3D Photos’ feature is compatible with most smartphones that feature a dual-camera setup. Like iPhone 7 and up (not the iPhone XR though), Samsung Galaxy Note 9, and LG V35 ThinQ. Facebook says it will be “adding support for more devices in the future.”
According to a report by TechCrunch, the technology uses the depth map that’s automatically created by dual-camera phones. It then adds some custom software tweaks that create a more realistic image.
What is a Facebook 3D Photo?
Facebook 3D is an AI-powered feature, which let users post 3D photos to their news feed. The VR headsets use the portrait mode of smartphones, including iPhone with a dual camera setup on the back. In a simple way, its facebook that takes advantage of the portrait mode to display your 2D photos in 3D.
What do you need to create and share Facebook 3D Photos?
If you want to use Facebook's 3D Photos feature, you should have the iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. However, the feature on Android-powered flagship smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and LG V35 will come soon, at the moment the feature is not available on those devices.
How to create and share a Facebook 3D Photo:
-Now, to create 3D photos you need a newFacebook photo through its Facebook app,
- Now, tap on the three dots for more options, and choose the 3D Photo option,
- Tap 3D Photo to view the iPhone’s gallery section
- choose a photo you have taken using the device’s portrait mode
- Now select a photo, and preview it.
And its done. You are all set to create a Facebook 3D Photo.
Some Tips & Tricks:
-Keep subject 3 or 4 feet away from the camera.
-Try to capture scenes with multiple layers of depth.
