Buyers rush to showrooms as Maruti dealers open bookings for this much awaited car
Some dealerships of the country's leading car maker Maruti Suzuki India have started accepting bookings for its much-awaited New Maruti Swift 2018 model. The new swift is likely to be rolled-out in the Indian market at the upcoming Auto Expo 2018 in the first week of February. Although the company has not announced the opening of bookings for the car officially, many dealers have now started accepting bookings for this next generation model of one of India's most popular hatchbacks. The bookings that were made for the old Swift will automatically convert in the bookings for the upcoming Swift, in case older stock has finished. As per the recent media reports, the company is likely to announce the official bookings from the third week of this month. Placed in the price segment of Rs 5 to 8 lakh, the new Swift is likely to give a tough fight to the competitors like Ford Figo and Hyundai i10. The new model will be placed below the Maruti Baleno in the company's India portfolio. Carrying an all-new design and style, the new Maruti Swift 2018 looks quite different from its predecessors. However, under the hood, it is equipped with the same proven powertrains including 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engines. Based on a completely new HEARTECH platform, the next generation Swift is a major upgrade over its existing model. This is the same platform on which the new generation Swift Dzire is based. Being around 10 – 15% lighter from its predecessor, the new HEARTECH platform is likely to deliver a combination of greater power and better fuel economy. Powered by a stronger and lighter chassis, the Maruti Swift 2018 hosts a completely new design and a basket full of new generation features.Carrying an all-new design and style, the new Maruti Swift 2018 looks quite different from its predecessors.
