Airtel plans to hit Jio with its Rs 499 postpaid plan with Unlimited voice calling and 40GB of data
In the era of super cheap internet data, India's second-biggest telecommunications operator Bharti Airtel has come up with plans to hit the data market with its latest postpaid plan. Airtel's latest Rs 499 plan offers 40 GB of 3G/4G data aided with unlimited voice callings including incoming/outgoing in roaming. The plan also has a very special offering that provides a 1-year free subscription to the Amazon Prime services.
The plan stands in direct competition with Jio's Rs 509 postpaid plan which offers a total of 60 GB internet data with a daily limit of 2GB.
With the plethora of recharge options available for prepaid recharge, this offer comes as a rare one in the postpaid section as it provides unlimited calling. Additionally, the recharge also comes with a free subscription to Airtel's Wynk TV and free access to the library of live TV and movies. The plan also provides the user with Handset damage protection that is quite rare to find.
Comparing Airtel's plan to Jio's. Jio, as always provides more internet data, in this case around 50% more data than what Airtel provides but there's a catch in Jio's postpaid plan as it requires you to deposit a Rs 600 security deposit but comes with unlimited SMS services. Also, Jio provides with unlimited access to its apps. A more expensive Rs 799 plan provides the same benefits as Jio. As usual, Jio takes the cake when it comes to providing its customers with the cheapest data with its rock-bottom pricing policy.
