Tonk: Ancient Idols in Shambles Cry Out for Jal Visarjan

Duni, Tonk: The ancient idols of Lord Shiva's family, situated at Shiv Ghat on the banks of Duni Sagar, are in a state of disrepair, sparking concerns among locals. The idols, which have been neglected for years, are considered an ominous sign, hinting at natural disasters and epidemics.

The idols, which have been damaged and are in a pitiful state, are believed to be a bad omen for the town. According to Jyotishacharya Dr. Balkishan Sharma, the broken idols can destroy the spiritual energy of the town, leading to natural calamities and epidemics. He emphasized the importance of performing Jal Visarjan (immerging the idols in water) as per traditional rituals to ward off negative energies.

The idols, which include four ancient Shivlings and a Nandi idol, have been lying in a dilapidated state for years, despite being surrounded by responsible citizens, officials, and local representatives. The nearby temple, which houses idols of Lord Ganesha, Kartikeya, and Goddess Parvati, has also been neglected, with the idols being broken and damaged.

The locals believe that the idols are an ominous sign, and their neglect can have severe consequences. In the past, rumours of the idols being broken led to their Jal Visarjan, but the current state of the idols is a cause for concern.

Action to be Taken

After being informed about the state of the idols, we will take immediate action and visit the site to take the necessary steps, says Pavan Kumar Sharma, Executive Officer, Nagar Palika, Duni.
