Online Complaint Facility for Consumers

Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh) : The Consumer Commission and Forum have strengthened the rights of consumers in cases of cheating, negligence, and inadequate service. Now, consumers can register their complaints online from the comfort of their own homes and seek justice. The Commission has started taking online complaints through the Confonat website.

Cases Resolved within 90 Days

Sanjay Sharma, a former member of the District Consumer Forum, said that the Consumer Protection Act is continuously providing speedy justice to consumers. All types of service-related issues, including negligence and cheating, can be reported here. For cases up to ₹5 lakh, no fee is charged, and the case is resolved within 90 days.

Relief from Online Frauds

In cases of online fraud, such as cheating on commercial websites, consumers can now seek immediate relief. The applicant needs to register their complaint on the Confonat website and then present their application and documents to the Commission. The Commission resolves such cases within 90 days.

Most Cases Related to the Sahara Company

In Chhattarpur, most cases related to cheating are connected to Sahara Company. Sahara Company has taken money from people on the pretext of providing interest on deposits and insurance but has not returned their money even after the maturity period. Such people can seek relief from the Consumer Commission, which resolves these cases within 90 days. 

So far, around 1500 cases related to Sahara Company's inadequate service have been pending in Chhattarpur.
