This Pakistani cricketer lost his daughter while playing an ODI against England
Pakistan cricketer Asif Ali was playing a one-day international match against England when his daughter Noor Fatima died in the United States. Noor Fatima was suffering from stage IV cancer and went to the US for treatment last month. Asif Ali also took to his Twitter account to thank US authorities for issuing visa within an hour.
Ali Tweeted, “My daughter is fighting the stage IV cancer and we are taking her to the US for her treatment. A big shout out to @usembislamabad and @USCGLahore for issuing the visa to us within an hour. Special thanks to Mike, Elizabeth, Tanveer & @TalhaAisham Bhai. Keep my princess in your Duas!”
Asif Ali was part of the squad playing the one-day international series against England. Ali played in every game and scored two half-centuries with a career best of 52. In the last and final match, he scored 22 but Pakistan lost the match by 54 runs. England won the five-match ODI series by 4-0, the first match was washed out due to rain.
Asif plays for Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League and the team issued a statement late Sunday. The statement read, “ISLU family pays its deepest condolences to @AasifAli2018 on the tragic loss of his daughter. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Asif & his family. Asif is a great example of strength & courage. He is an inspiration to us.”
