IndvsBan: India register their 4th highest score in ODIs after 409/8 against Bangladesh
The Indian Cricket Team recorded its fourth-highest team total in ODIs on December 10. The ‘Men in Blue’ scored 409 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the third and final game of the three-match series against Bangladesh. The match was played at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
With this, India also recorded their second-highest team total abroad; the team’s maximum being 413 for five against Bermuda back in 2007 at Port of Spain during the 50-over World Cup match. Not only that, it is the sixth time that the ‘Men in Blue’ breached the 400-run mark in ODIs.
However, the team’s highest score in ODIs remains to be 418 for five in 2011 against West Indies. The team has the chance to break the 11-year-old record but wickets in the death overs didn’t allow the players to set a new record.
Ishan Kishan and Virat Kohli stole the show today after India lost the early wicket of Shikhar Dhawan to off-break bowler Mehidy Hasan Miraz. They put up a 290-run stand for the second wicket.
Kishan broke Chris Gayle's record for the quickest double-hundred in an ODI. Before Ishan Kishan claimed his wicket, Kishan had 210 runs scored thanks to 24 fours and 10 gigantium sixes.
After being a little cautious to begin his innings, Kohli worked his way to his 72nd international century off 85 balls. In terms of the number of hundreds in international cricket, Kohli is now only behind Sachin Tendulkar.
