Here are some interesting facts about team India's new jersey for 2019 World Cup
On the eve of the first ODI against Australia in Hyderabad, Indian skipper Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni unveiled the new team India jersey ahead of 2019 ICC World Cup. Along with Kohli and Dhoni, Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemimah Rodrigues, Ajinkya Rahane and Prithvi Shaw were also present in the ceremony.
The jersey also features the dates and scores of team India’s World Cup triumphs along with three stars, signifying India’s three World Cup titles (two ODIs and one T20 World Cup). The details are inscribed on the inside at the back of the jersey. India have been sporting the three stars for sometime now but for the first time the three stars will be seen at the back.
Like earlier designs, Nike has again decided to make the jersey from recycled material. Nike has used recycled polyester and blue continues to be the primary colour and orange as the secondary. In fact, the jersey features two shades of blue for the first time.
The 2019 World Cup starts on May 30, with England and South Africa playing the opener of the tournament. Team India will also play their series opener against South Africa on June 6. England and India are going into the tournament as everyone’s favorite. The 2019 World Cup is taking place in England and Wales.
India are currently playing a five-match ODI series against Australia. The first match which is taking place in Hyderabad today is looking in India’s favour.
