Iceland cricket takes a jibe at BCCI, offers citizenship to Ambati Rayudu
Ambati Rayudu missed a chance again after Mayank Agarwal was called in to replace injured Vijay Shankar in India’s World Cup squad. Ambati Rayudu and Rishabh Pant were kept as reserve players but only Pant got his chance when he replaced Shikhar Dhawan in the squad. Rayudu was not called in despite one more injury in the team.
Iceland cricket has now taken a dig at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for not giving Ambati Rayudu a chance. Iceland cricket has gone to the extent of offering citizenship to Rayudu and asked him to play for Iceland. Iceland cricket took to their official Twitter handle to share the details of documents needed in the citizenship transfer form.
Iceland cricket wrote, “ Agarwal has three professional wickets at 72.33 so at least @RayuduAmbati can put away his 3D glasses now. He will only need normal glasses to read the document we have prepared for him. Come join us Ambati. We love the Rayudu things. #BANvIND #INDvBAN #CWC19.”
Iceland cricket came under scanner earlier last month when they took a dig at Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan. Rashid Khan conceded 110 runs against England which is the highest by a spinner in an ODI match and highest by a bowler in World Cup. Iceland cricket faced a lot of criticism from former cricketers and current players after which they had to apologise for the tweet.
