Watch: AAP workers chant 'Modi Mar Gaya' as CBI grills Sisodia, BJP hits back

Amid the Central Bureau of Investigation's questioning of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in connection with an alleged excise policy scam, workers and leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) began protesting outside the CBI office in Delhi on February 26. Police detained some female AAP workers and took them to Fatehpur Beri police station.

While en route to the police station, some of the female workers were heard using controversial language towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, chanting slogans like 'Modi mar gaya' (Modi has died).

In response, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) swiftly called the comments 'unfortunate'. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said, "Today, AAP used the very unfortunate words 'mar ja Modi'. What are they trying to prove? Is it an attempt to hide their own corruption? Earlier, Congress leaders also used derogatory language towards our Prime Minister, which is truly unfortunate."

Recently, Congress leader Pawan Khera also made controversial remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's late father, resulting in cases being filed against him in multiple states. On February 23, Khera was removed from a flight and arrested by Assam Police after an FIR was filed against him for his comments about the Prime Minister. He later obtained bail from the Supreme Court after offering an unconditional apology.

Opposition party leaders have been heard making various derogatory remarks about the Prime Minister.
