Sudarsan Pattnaik pays sand art tribute to PM Modi’s mother; internet says ‘Om Shanti’ [In Picture]
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother Heeraben Modi, fondly known as Hiraba, passed away at the age of 100 in the early hours of December 30. She took her last breath at the age of 100 at UN Mehta Hospital in Ahmedabad.
Heeraben was admitted to the hospital for check-ups after health complications. Tributes and condolences poured in for her from all walks of life.
Prominent sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik also paid tribute to Heeraben Modi with his art. He made a beautiful sculpture of Heeraba on the Puri beach. The sculpture has ‘Maa’ written in the background and ‘om shanti’ written below.
The sand artist took to Twitter and shared a picture of the sculpture with caption, “Hon'ble Shri.@narendramodi ji's mother, Smt #HeerabenModi reached lotus feet of God. #OmShanti. I offer my deep condolences to Hon’ble PM @narendramodi ji and family. My sand art at Puri beach in Odisha.”
Since being shared, the picture has accumulated 215.1K views and 15.6K likes. Users filled the comment section with ‘om shanti’ messages.
Heeraben Modi used to live with her son Pankaj, the youngest in the family in Raysan in Gandhinagar district. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his brothers performed last rites of their mother.
PM Modi would regularly visit Raysan and spend time with his mother during most of his Gujarat visits.
