Himachal Pradesh: Tourists flock to Mandi, Shimla after heavy snowfall [DRONE SHOT, PICS INSIDE]
Prominent tourist destinations in Himachal Pradesh have turned into a winter wonderland after a fresh spell of snowfalls on January 13 and 14. One of the favourite tourist destinations, Mandi, has put on a white gown of snow after yesterday’s snowfall.
Tourists made a beeline to resorts in Mandi, Shimla and Manali after fresh snowfall.
According to the news agency PTI, parts of Himachal Pradesh received a good amount of snowfall in last two days. Manali received 23 cm of snow, followed by 16 cm in Khadrala, 6 cm each in Shimla and Gondla, and 4 cm each in Dalhousie.

Tourists focked to Kufri after heavy snowfall.
Tourists were spotted taking pictures of the snow-covered mountains and enjoying the cool weather.
On the other hand, following heavy snowfall and severe weather conditions over the past two days, traffic movement has been blocked on nearly 245 roads in Himachal Pradesh, including four national highways, as per an official release today.
Meanwhile, snowfall has come as a miracle for the tourism sector of the hill state, which was reeling under financial crisis due to COVID restrictions and lockdowns. Himachal Pradesh is witnessing good tourist footfall in Shimla, Mandi, and Kufri among other famous destinations, after heavy snowfall. The occupancy rate in hotels has also significantly increased.
Himachal Pradesh Police and administration have advised tourists to drive safely at slippery points. In the event of an emergency, the administration has also issued emergency numbers 0177-2812344 or 112 to tourists.
