#HeartAttack trends on Twitter; know its Hyderabad link

The hashtag '#HeartAttack' began trending on Twitter in India on February 24 after users shared video clips of recent deaths caused by sudden cardiac arrest. The trend started with clips from Hyderabad showing people, including a police officer, collapsing while going about their daily routines.

Perhaps the most shocking video was of a 40-year-old man collapsing while attending a wedding ceremony, which reportedly occurred in Kala Pattar.

In another clip, a cop collapsed on the floor during a workout at a gym in Hyderabad allegedly due to a sudden cardiac arrest. The constable, identified as Vishal and a resident of Bowenpally, was posted at Asif Nagar police station.

These clips caused panic among Twitter users, who shared them with the hashtag #heartattack, making it one of the top trending hashtags in the country.

Meanwhile, some cardiac doctors shared precautions with users and debunked some myths related to cardiac arrest.

Some people also shared a heartwarming video of a traffic constable who saved a man's life by immediately performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a busy street in Hyderabad. The man had suffered a massive cardiac arrest in the Rajendranagar area on February 24, leaving people stunned as they watched him collapse in front of them.

As bystanders called for an ambulance, traffic constable Rajasekhar sprang into action, administering CPR without wasting a moment.

Telangana Health Minister Harish Rao Thanneeru has praised the traffic cop for his quick thinking and life-saving actions.

Sudden cardiac arrest cases have drastically increased in India and in other countries in recent years, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic.
