Liva Q, world's smallest 4k mini PC, hits Indian shelves
Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) has brought the smallest 4K mini-PC to India. The Taiwan-based electronics major launched the Liva Q Mini-PC with Windows 10 Home and Intel’s Apollo Lake processors at Rs 15,500. Without Windows 10 Home, the Lava Q is priced at Rs 13,500
In an event in New Delhi on Tuesday, 13 March, Rajshekhar Bhatt, Country Manager, Elitegroup Computer Systems said, “At ECS we keep expanding the LIVA family with perpetually comprehensive designs and innovations. Smaller size, more features and performance are transformed in each of the generations. Carrying on the LIVA legacy forward, we proudly announce LIVA Q as the smallest palm sized Pocket PC available in the market today”
The Liva Q comes with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage (can be expanded to 128GB via a microSD card). The Mini-PC weighs just 260gms. It is 1/10th the size of a traditional desktop PC. Furthermore, for wireless connections, it has 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.1. There are two USB ports and one HDMI port.
The Liva Q is powered by a dual-core Celeron N3350 or an Intel Pentium quad-core N4200.
There are two USPs of this device. First, it capable of handling 4K playback. The company says that no other device of this size can handle 4K playback. Second, it is very compact and ideal for limited space and perfect for those wanting a compact and portable HTPC.
With ECS launching the Liva Q2 back at CES in January, it's baffling as to why the company would bring its first generation model to India, six months after its global launch. With the Liva Q2, ready this March, the company should have just held off a bit and launched the successor instead.
