Mohanlal's upcoming film Villain is three weeks away for its theatrical release, but the film is already earning money for producer Rockline Venkatesh, maker of Rajinikanth's Lingaa and Salman Khan blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Villain is also the maiden Malayalam venture of Rockline Venkatesh.

Earlier, many media reported that the Hindi dubbed rights of the Mohanlal starrer have been sold for Rs 1 crore.

However, now it has been confirmed that the Hindi dubbed rights of Villain have sold not for Rs. 1 crore. In fact a top leading distribution house has bagged the Hindi dubbed rights of Villain for a huge Rs. 3 crore. It's an astonishing deal considering that none of the Hindi dubbed rights of Malayalam films have sold for more than Rs. 1 crore. Mohanlal's increasing stardom in North India and Rockline Venkatesh's name as producer has worked in favour of the film to attract the buyers. Also, it has to be noted that Lalettan's previous films including hat-trick blockbusters like Oppam, Pulimurugan and Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol have ran for more than 50 theatrical days at the Mumbai Box Office as well.

Directed by B Unnikrishnan, Villain also stars Manju Warrier, Vishal, Hansika, Raashi Khanna, Srikanth, Renji Panciker, Siddique and Chemban Vinod Jose.

Villain is scheduled to release on October 27.
