This Indian film actress to raise awareness on safe sanitation and menstrual hygiene for girls; know who is she?
To raise awareness for girls’ education and sanitation, many film stars have come in support of the cause. Even several films have been made over the situation about girls like Akshay Kumar’s superhit film Toilet Ek Prem Katha and Padman, which has picturised the situation of girls in town.
Likewise, a multilingual film actress Priyamani would also create awareness on safe and menstrual hygiene for girls under the campaign named as Stay At School.
She will be running a marathon in Bengaluru.
The Drona film actress will be going to participate in the TCS World 10K marathon on 19th May 2019 in support of NGO Habitat for Humanity India.
Reportedly, Priyamani made a partnership with the NGO to raise awareness among people about the girls’ education and safe sanitation.
According to the reports of IANS, Priyamani said, ‘The school drop-out rate for girls is drastically rising owing to lack of toilets and knowledge of menstrual hygiene.’ She further told that due to the lack of basic sanitation facilities, girls could experience a lot of trouble during menstruation which could have an adverse impact on their health.
"By participating in the marathon I am taking a step forward in helping the girls stay in school," Priyamani said.
