This classic film inspired Baahubali superstar Prabhas to become an actor
The Dubai schedule of Prabhas' upcoming film Saaho is slated to be commenced soon. Tipped to be an action adventure, the film marks the Telugu debut of Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor. Directed by Sujeeth Reddy and jointly bankrolled by V Vamshi Krishna Reddy and Pramod under UV Creations, Saaho also stars an ensemble star cast including Jackie Shroff, Chunkey Pandey, Arun Vijay, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Mandira Bedi.
Earlier, Prabhas was known only as a South film actor. However, thanks to the release of Baahubali series, he is now a household name across the India. Prabhas is also one of the highest paid actors of Indian cinema.
In a recent interview, Prabhas had revealed his real inspiration to become a film star.
Prabhas stated that it was the 1976 Telugu devotional classic Bhakta Kannappa inspired him to take up acting. The film tells the story of a devotee of Lord Shiva and interestingly the Telugu superstar is also a devotee of Lord Shiva. Prabhas' uncle and veteran actor Krishnam Raju starred the lead role in Bhakta Kannapa. The film inspired Prabhas to make his acting debut in 2002 film Eshwar.
