Tharangam: Tovino Thomas' experimental film with newcomers enjoys good word of mouth, set to be his straight fourth success of 2017
Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas is having a dream Box Office run in 2017. The actor had three releases so far and all of them turned out to be money spinners at the Box Office. While his February release with Prithviraj turned out to be a Blockbuster, Oru Mexican Aparatha and Godha turned out to become super hits as well.
And now, looks like Tovino Thomas is set to bag his fourth hit of the year as the actor's last week release Tharangam has picked up on a big way at the Kerala Box Office.
There is no denying that clashing with Dileep starrer Ramaleela has affected the film a bit, but the good news for the makers are film is showing phenomenal growth with each passing days. Similar to Tovino's previous release Godha, the good mouth publicity has worked in favour of Tharangam as well to show a substantial growth at the Kerala Box Office. It's a remarkable feat considering that Tharangam is a collaboration of newcomers.
Tharangam marks the directorial debut of Dominic Arun and acting debut of Santhy Balachandran and Mumbai based model and popular RJ Neha Iyer. Tipped to be a black comedy thriller, Tharangam also marked the maiden Malayalam venture of Tamil actor Dhanush' Wunderbar Films.
Tharangam has been praised for its excellent experimental story and the performances of its leading cast. The film also stars an ensemble star cast including Balu Varghese, Vijaya Raghavan, Saiju Kurup, Manoj K Jayan, Dileesh Pothan. The Muscle Aliyan of Malayalam cinema, Unni Mukundan portrays an extended cameo in Tharangam. The film also marks his second collaboration with Tovino Thomas after Style.
