Mersal: Thalapathy Vijay's Diwali release to become the third Indian film to get this international honour
Tamil actor Thalapathy Vijay's Mersal is 11 days away from its theatrical release, but the film is creating headlines with each passing days. The film, tipped to the 100th film of popular Tamil production studio Sri Thenandal Films, has been directed by Atlee and written by KV Vijayendra Prasad of Baahubali and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The music of Mersal has been composed by Oscar award winning composer AR Rahman.
While the film is slated to hit the screens on Diwali, Mersal has now received an international honour to its credit.
The Thalapathy Vijay starrer is all set to be screened in the prestigious Le Grand Rex Cinemas in Paris. It's an unique honour considering that only two Indian films, SS Rajamouli's Baahubali and Rajinikanth starrer Kabali have so far managed to bag this international honor.
The teaser of Mersal was recently in news for becoming world's most liked film teaser. Mersal stars Samantha, Kajal Aggarwal and Nithya Menen in the female lead roles and will hit the screens on 18 October.
