Kerala Box Office: Mohanlal blockbuster Pulimurugan completes 200 theatrical days

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's 2016 blockbuster Pulimurugan has successfully completed 200 days of its theatrical release at the Kerala Box Office. Directed by Vysakh and produced by Tomichan Mulakkupadam, the action entertainer was released on 7 October 2016, on the auspicious occasion of Dusshera. Pulimurugan starred Lalettan in the titular role of a
hunter, Murugan.

Upon it's opening day, Pulimurugan minted Rs. 4 .05 crore to become the top Malayalam opener at the Kerala Box Office. The film has shattered every records at the Kerala Box Office by becoming the fastest Rs. 20 crore, Rs. 30 crore, Rs. 40 crore and the first Rs. 50 crore, Rs. 100 crore and Rs. 150 crore grosser of Malayalam cinema history.

Pulimurugan also created multiple records overseas as well.

The Mohanlal starrer has minted nearly Rs. 12 crore plus to become the top South Indian film with highest opening weekend collections upon its UAE release. Pulimurugan is also the only South Indian film among the list of top 5 Indian films at the UAE Box Office. The film also emerged as the third highest running film in UAE after the 2013 Mohanlal blockbuster
Drishyam and the 1996 Hollywood classic Titanic.

Pulimurugan also starred Lal, Vinu Mohan, Bengali actress Kamalini Mukherjee and Telugu actor Jagapati Babu. The film, which is on its last legs at the Box Office is still running in limited cinemas across the Kerala.
