Janata Curfew: Twitter India deletes Rajinikanth’s video for spreading misinformation over Coronavirus
As Sunday 22nd March is here so are people gearing up to observe Janata Curfew today. Many celebrities took to their social media handle to urge people for the campaign, among all was South Indian industry superstar Rajinikanth who joined the bandwagon and requested people to take part in the curfew a battle against the COVID-19.
In wake to spread the awareness on 21st March, he posted a video on Twitter with a statement regarding the same. However, this didn’t go down well with the netizens and called it a fake news. After seeing the video Twitter India took the video for not just misinforming the people about the novel coronavirus but also for violating the rules.
In the video Rajnikanth said that India is currently at stage 2 if people don’t contact the virus which lives outside In the public places frequented by the people for 12-14 hours then we can stop it from spreading into stage 3.
He further added that Italy too warned its people when coronavirus was at its 2 stage in the country, however, people didn’t pay heed to the government. This negligence resulted in thousands of deaths.

Meanwhile, PM Modi requested citizens to remain indoors and observe the curfew only if there is a grave emergency they are allowed to go outside. He also the citizens to stand in their balconies and clap to motivate the doctors, nurses, police, home delivery people, media personnel and other emergency responders who are working amid the risk of COVID-19.
