Popular Telugu filmmaker Dil Raju and four other producers have been accused of plagiarising the story and dialogues of Telugu novelist Shyamala Rani to make the 2011 film Mr. Perfect, which featured Prabhas, Kajal Aggarwal and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles.

Shyamala Rani stated that she had published her book titled Na Manasu Ninnu Kore in 2010 and alleged that the makers of Mr Perfect have used her story without her permission. A case was filed against the joint producers of Mr Perfect including Dil Raju, Sirish, Lakshman, director K Dasarath and dialogue writer Abburi Ravi under the four sections of IPC, including conspiracy and cheating.

“While I was watching `Mr Perfect’ in 2013 on television, I found several dialogues and scenes were copied from my novel,” Shyamala Rani said in her interview to a leading daily.

Dil Raju is one of the top leading producers of Tollywood, the filmmaker had three releases in 2017 so far and all three films turned out to be big money spinners at the box office.

While his first two releases, Nani's Nenu Local and Allu Arjun starrer Duvvada Jagannadham emerged as super hits, his recent release, Sai Pallavi's Telugu debut Fidaa emerged as second Telugu blockbuster of the year after SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2.
