Ever since the Hindi dubbed version of SS Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Conclusion emerged as the all-time highest Bollywood blockbuster, there were reports that Bollywood is planning to make films similar to the standards of Baahubali.In fact, a few sections of Bollywood media reported that director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has made changes to the production works of his upcoming film Padmavati starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.

Compared to the South filmmakers, Bollywood industry people have more funds to produce many Baahubalis. Yet, they are not able produce one because practically it's not their cup of tea.

Here are 4 reasons why Catch feels Bollywood can't make a Baahubali.

1) The money for big budget film in South mostly goes to the 'production of the film' whereas in Bollywood it's the stars' who take maximum pay cheque and the rest of the money goes to the production. In fact, the average total budget of South films are lesser than the one-film remuneration of the Bollywood Khans and the Kumar. 

2) Lack of discipline is another reason why Bollywood is struggling to make a war-drama like Baahubali. Except for Akshay Kumar starrers (who's known for completing films in 30-40 calendar days), most of the superstar films get delayed for different reasons. Even Akshay often says South film industry is more disciplined than Hindi film industry.

3) While South filmmakers are more cautious about the 'content' of the film, Bollywood people prefer 'release date' over the plot of the film. Yes, it's true that 'release timing' is also crucial for the success of any film. But Bollywood filmmakers have a bad habit of picking up 'festival period' as the release slot before the commencement of their respective films. For example, Salman Khan announced the release date of Tubelight as Eid 2017 before the commencement of the film. And as usual the Bhai fans expected the film to be another festival releases like Kick or Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Unfortunately, the content of the film was so bad it sunk without any trace at the Box office. 

4) And the main reason why Bollywood is struggling to make a Baahubali is lack of unity among the stars. Post the 2006 Akshay Kumar -Salman Khan starrer Jaan-E-Mann and the 2010 political drama Rajneeti, when was the last time a Bollywood film featured two superstars or A-list actors together? Forget the Prabhas - Rana Daggubati's Baahubali 2, even the recently released Tamil film Vikram Vedha featured two A-list actors of Tamil cinema, R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi. 

Unfortunately, our Bollywood stars, who share selfies at parties and sips coffee together in Koffee With Karan episodes, are not comfortable to share screens together in main lead roles. In the year 2013, Akshay Kumar released Boss, the Hindi remake of Mammootty - Prithviraj starrer Malayalam blockbuster, Vysakh's Pokkiriraja. And despite being a mass entertainer and chart buster songs, Boss bombed at the Box Office. The main reason for the failure of film was the Bollywood superstar decided to cast a non A-list actor with him to share the screen space while the main reason to make the original version was to bring the young Malayalam superstar Prithviraj along with the Malayalam megastar Mammootty.

It's high time Bollywood stars should notice of the unity among the South stars and learn from it apart from remaking their hits in Hindi. As Akshay Kumar says in Airlift ''Saath Hain To Kuch Hain, Warna Kuch Nahi''!
