Reasi Bus Terror Attack on Sunday; Nawaz Sharif's Peace Overtures on Monday
New Delhi: On a day when a manhunt with commandos, drones, and military dogs was being carried out to find three Pakistani terrorists linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Narendra Modi on taking the oath as the Prime Minister of India.
Modi took oath as PM on June 9. When the stage was all set for the oath taking ceremony, around 6 pm, terrorists were spraying bullets at pilgrims going to Katra. Nine people were killed, and the casualty number could have been higher had the bus not fallen into a gorge.
On June 10, former Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif also joined his brother Shehbaz Sharif and even suggested: "Let us replace hate with hope and seize the opportunity to shape the destiny of the two billion people of South Asia."
First, Pakistani terrorists kill innocent pilgrims, and then Pakistan's leadership shamelessly talks about peace in South Asia.
India has always maintained that terror and peace can't coexist. Those who raise questions when India talks about crossing the border to protect the lives of Indian citizens should question Pakistan for directly and indirectly abetting terrorism.
Those in India who find Pakistan a decent country should now reassess their views. Political parties should speak in one voice and put up a united front against terrorism emanating from Pakistan.
But there has not been much of a reaction from political parties. When India is sleeping, we can't blame the world.
Pilgrims' lives do matter!
