Yogi Adityanath, Mayawati slams Priyanka Gandhi for her silence over infant deaths in Congress-ruled Rajasthan
Yogi Adityanath, Mayawati hit out at Priyanka Gandhi for her silence over infant deaths in Congress-ruled Rajasthan
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Thursday hit out at Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi for being silent on the deaths of around 100 infants at a hospital in Kota district in Rajasthan.
Taking to Twitter the UP chief Minister wrote: "Had Mrs Vadra met the aggrieved mothers in Rajasthan, instead of doing political gimmicks in Uttar Pradesh, then those families might have got some consolation. They have no concern nor any sympathy. They want to do politics, not public service."
Yogi Adityanath criticized the Congress-led Rajasthan government and said, “The indifference, insensitive, and irresponsible attitude of the Congress government in Rajasthan and of CM Ashok Gehlot is sad.”
Similarly, BSP Mayawati also slammed the Congress leader over her silent on the dead infants in the Congress-ruled state and wrote: "The death of 100 children in Congress-ruled Rajasthan’s Kota district is very sad and painful. CM Ashok Gehlot and his govt are still insensitive, disinterested and irresponsible, which is highly condemnable. ”
On the other hand, CM Gehlot today said the issue should not be politicized and his government was sensitive to it.
Expressing displeasure on the response to the tragedy, Mayawati also questioned the silence of Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, saying if she does not meet mothers of the deceased children, then her meeting with the kin of the victims of violence during the anti-CAA protests in UP will be "construed as pure theatrics".
"The government is sensitive to the death of sick infants in JK Lon Hospital in Kota. There should no politics over the issue. Infant mortality at this hospital is steadily decreasing. We will try to reduce it further. It is our top priority that mothers and children remain in good health," Gehlot tweeted in Hindi.
Gehlot further claimed that the first ICU for children in Rajasthan was established by the Congress government in 2003.
