‘When Babri incident happened BJP ran away, CM Shinde’s Ayodhya visit sponsored': Sanjay Raut

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) leader Sanjay Raut on April 9 reacted to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Ayodhya visit, saying that he is copying the ‘original Shiv Sena’ and that the visit is sponsored by the BJP, “People knows who is Original and who is duplicate,” Raut said.

He fired a fresh salvo at the CM Shinde-led Maharashtra Government, stating that the state's farmers are bearing the brunt of recent rainfall and hailstorms, with their crops destroyed. Rather than addressing these issues, the Chief Minister went on an Ayodhya visit.

“Farmers in Maharashtra are in problems due to rain and hailstorm but ignoring all these issues the govt of the state went to Ayodhya. Will Lord Ram bless them?... They are copying usm,” he said.

The Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) leader further attacked the BJP by saying that they left the Shiv Sena when the Babri mosque incident took place.

“We also believe in Lord Ram. We have also gone to Ayodhya several times. But BJP leaders never went to Ayodhya with our party . When Babri incident happened they ran away...but now are now going to Ayodhya by holding unfaithful people’s fingers. What you think Lord Ram will bless them?. Let them come to Mumbai and see what happens to their government, wait and watch. If you had that much faith in Lord Ram, you would not have gone to Surat and Guwahati and would have gone to Ayodhya first. Now they are going to Ayodhya. This visit (of CM Shinde) has been sponsored by the BJP.

“They are copying us, they are doing our mimicry. Let them do it. people knows who is original and who is duplicate,” he added.

Raut’s attack on CM Shinde comes as he visits Ayodhya, marking his first such visit since he was inducted into the top leadership of Maharashtra in June 2022. Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis will also join CM Shinde on his visit later today.

Meanwhile, CM Shinde left for Ayodhya from Lucknow. "Lord Ram's blessings are with us and that is why we have got the symbol of bow and arrow," He said.

The Maharashtra Chief Minister reached Lucknow yesterday evening and stayed there for the night. Today, he will attend the Maha Aarti at Ram Janma Bhumi and visit the construction site of the new Ayodhya temple with Devendra Fadnavis.

On Friday, CM shinde flagged off a special train carrying Shiv Sainiks to the temple town.

Earlier, Eknath Shinde had visited the holy city a year before the Apex Court announced the verdict in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute.
