Maharashtra Political Crisis: BJP doing tax free 'Khela' says Sanjay Raut
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has alleged that BJP is trying to create a crisis in Maharashtra only for political ambition which is inspired by what the party is doing in West Bengal. "BJP is doing 'Khela' (game) here too as it has been doing in West Bengal," said Raut. Smiling at his comment he tried to downplay the seriousness of the political crisis in Mumbai by saying: "There is no entertainment tax for this 'khela'."
BJP leaders meet Governor
Sanjay Raut made these comments while talking to the media in Mumbai while a group of BJP leaders led by former CM Devendra Fadnavis met Maharashtra Governor BS Koshyari at Raj Bhavan and handed over their memorandum.
"We requested Governor to ask for a report from Maharashtra Chief Minister on various issues related to governance and corona in the state. We also requested him to intervene in corruption-related issues" said BJP leader Sudhir Mungantiwar.
Former police chief Param Bir Singh's letter to Chief Minister alleging corruption charges against Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has led to the eruption of a political crisis in Maha Vikas Aghadi government.
Uddhav Thackeray's silence being questioned
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has not spoken on the fate of Home Minister Anil Deshmukh after Param Bir Singh's allegations. Questions are being raised as CM is being seen as shielding Anil Deshmukh in the face of serious criminal charges.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena is dismissing the charges as a political conspiracy to topple the Maharashtra government. But BJP maintains that this criminal operation clearly indicates the involvement of many vested interests and the Chief Minister Office has a lot more explanation to make in the coming days.
