Jyotiraditya Scindia removes Congress tag from Twitter bio, denies tiff with party
In a major development, former Union minister and Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia has removed all references his association with Congress on Twitter.
His Twitter updated bio says he is a public servant and cricket enthusiast only, which earlier read, Former Member of Parliament, Guna (2002-2019) | Former Minister for Power (I/C); MoS Commer & Industry; MoS Communications, IT & Post.
However, the former union minister has denied having any tiff with the party and said, a month back I had changed my bio on Twitter. On people's advice, I had made my bio shorter. Rumors regarding this are baseless.
Scindia has been sulking for quite sometime after he has been denied the Chief Minister (CM) in Madhya Pradesh (MP). His have been pitching for him to be made party president in MP, ever since Kamal Nath was made the CM.
Notably, Scindia had made statements that may convey that everything is not well between him and his party. He had raised his voice on the Kamal Nath government on the issues of loan waiver, survey for flood relief and power cuts.
This apart, the former Union minister had also shared his views on Twitter supporting the Modi-government's move to revoke Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, this has aslo created a huge political controversy.
On the other hand, some senior leaders, as well as Congress Ministers and MLAs, have been demanding that Scindia be made the president of the MP Congress.
In October 2019, Scindia had tendered his resignation from General Secretary post of the All India Congress Committee, but his resignation has not been accepted yet.
