Former Jharkhand CM Babulal Marandi joins BJP
The Bharatiya Janata Party secured a significant boost in Jharkhand with Babulal Marandi, former Chief Minsister of the state and president of the Jharkhand Vikas Morchs, merging his party with the BJP on Monday.
The event at Jagnnath Maidan was attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and JP Nadda.
The BJP had made keen attempt to make the merger and Babulal Marandi’s re-joining a monumental affair.
The first BJP Chief Minister of Jharkhand was being pursued as part of the attempt to bring back the party’s existence in the state among tribals, which in recent times seems to be turning away.

Earlier, Babulal Marandi had announced JVM-P merger with the saffron party, 14 years after he quit the BJP.
The JVM-P has three MLAs, but two of them have mounted a rebellion and Babulal had decided to dismissed them from the party.
Babulal Marandi will be the sole legislator of the party after the two were expelled from the party.
According to reports Babulal Marandi is likely to be opted for the Legislative party leader of the BJP.
