Chandrababu Naidu vows to defend Telugu people following arrest in alleged corruption case
Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who was arrested in an alleged corruption case earlier in the day, declared his unwavering commitment to the people of the state.
In a social media post following his arrest, Naidu asserted that no force on Earth could deter him from serving the people of Andhra Pradesh.
"For the past 45 years, I've selflessly served Telugu people. I'm prepared to sacrifice my life to safeguard the interests of the Telugu people. No force on Earth can stop me from serving Telugu people, my #Andhra Pradesh, and my motherland," he stated.
Arrest and Resistance
The former chief minister was taken into custody by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at 6 a.m. from R K Function Hall in Nandyala town.
The case, involving over Rs 250 crore, dates back to 2021 when an FIR was filed. During Naidu's arrest, TDP cadres put up resistance, resulting in a minor scuffle between officials and the former chief minister's supporters.
Naidu's Defense
Naidu, who has been named as accused number 1 in the case, vehemently denied any wrongdoing. He asserted, "I did not commit any malpractice or corruption. CID arrested me without providing proper information, and I asked them to show the evidence, but they refused to show it and attached my name to the FIR without my role."
