Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has recently shared some memories from his Under-15 cricket days when he became emotional and ‘cried all the way to the pavilion’. Sharing a video on Instagram, the legendary batter talked about his debut match for Mumbai at the U-15 level. The match took at PYC Hindu Gymkhana ground in Pune decades ago. Tendulkar took a tour of the PYC Hindu Gymkhana and shared the chain of events that transpired on his debut.
Since being shared, the video clip has created a buzz on social media platforms and has gone viral. In the video, the right-hander can be heard narrating his performance and how he was dismissed in the match.
“I was at the non-striker’s end and my colleague from school Rahul Ganpule was batting. He played an off-drive and pushed me to take a third run. But I was not too speedy at that point of time. And eventually, I was run out. I could only manage to score four runs,” said Tendulkar in the video.
After getting out, at his debut match for Mumbai at the U-15 level, Sachin cried all the way back to the pavilion. “And I still remember that after being run out I was crying throughout while getting back to the pavilion,” he said. Tendulkar asserted that was disappointed as it was his first match.
Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar announced his retirement from international cricket in November 2013. He retired from cricket after playing marvelous 200 Test matches. Tendulkar played his last Test match against West Indies at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
For the non-cricket fans, Sachin Tendulkar is the only batsman to score 100 centuries in international cricket.
